Hummingbird Moth

I was at the arboretum and saw some hummingbirds. Man, those things are QUICK! Anyway, they flew away before I could get my camera up. Determined, I stayed in the area in hopes that they would back.

Lo, I espied something nearby that looked like a very small hummingbird. I stealthily walked over to the flowers where this flying beastie was feeding and commenced to shoot away.

I was surprised and delighted when I had a chance to review the pictures and discovered that it was a moth I had shot (and not only that, but one with transparent wings!).
